Beautiful little petting farm

点评：We visited Peca Farm on a Thursday in July. We were there for 2 hours. It wasn't that busy and I'm wondering if it is due to the high price of entry. The cost was $60 for four people (2 adults, one small child and an older child). I think the entrance fee could be approx. $30 for a family, to provide value for this attraction. That being said, the place was great and a lot of effort has been made to make this farm a special place to visit. The small farm is set in a large pasture next to a hilly forest. The empty barn is refurbished with an original stone/timber foundation. The stone farmhouse in the distance is lovely. There is a craft activity in the barn for little kids. Underneath the barn, there are animal pens with pigs, goats, sheep, bunnies, chicks, 3 horses and 2 cows. These animals can be petted (not the chicks), which is great for kids. The kids fed the horses hay and gave little bits of food to the goats and sheep. Outside there is a cow pen and an enclosure for chickens. There is another pen with a donkey and sheep that visitors can go into to pet the animals. The owners have made nice play areas with games and swings for kids. One of the play areas is quite large for kids to run around. There is a cool basketball net attached to an old farm grain chute for older children. The swings are made of a horse saddle and a hay bail which we thought was funky. We went on a hayride around the pasture which was enjoyable. We brought a picnic lunch and enjoyed a scenic picnic overlooking the pasture/rolling hills. They have picnic tables with large shade umbrellas. We all enjoyed our visit.
