点评:I visited Flamingo Island (Renaissance Island) in Aruba this week with my daughter to celebrate her birthday and paid $250 for a day pass. Unfortunately, our experience started poorly due to how one of the staff members treated us.
While waiting for the boat, I stood up to take photos of my daughter near the dock. The staff member suddenly shouted at me, accused me of cutting the line, and insisted I board last even though several people arrived after us. When I tried to calmly explain that I was only taking video and wasn’t sure if it was the correct boat and I was approaching her to ask her a question and NOT to cut the line, she refused to listen and even called security to have us removed from the boat. Thankfully, the security guards realized the situation was exaggerated and allowed us to stay.
It was embarrassing and upsetting to be treated that way in front of others. I’m a very respectful person both in my personal life and at work, where I’m well respected by my colleagues so this experience truly shocked me.
I’ve traveled to over 25 countries and have always appreciated kind and professional service, but this interaction was disappointing and uncalled for. I hope management provides better training so future guests feel welcomed and respected. The island itself is beautiful, but this incident left a lasting negative impression.
