点评:Upon arrival in Algar you will see a number of car parks, I recommend using these as there is no official parking for the site and the 5 Euro charge (particularly those that have tree shelter on a hot day) is worth paying. From there it’s a 10 minute walk to the site, then another 5 minutes from the entrance along a path to the entrance booth.
A security guard (use these term loosely) will half-heartedly check your bags for any food or drink, frankly we saw a lot of food being consumed once in the site so the locals seem to know that the rule isn’t enforced.
There is a 6 Euro charge for lockers , cash only, beware that these lockers are quite small so travel lightly.
Once in, it’s a nice experience and I echo the comment about wearing sea shoes to protect your feet as there are lots of slippery areas once in the water. A great range of shallow, deep and waterfall areas, and one pool where you can leap in. Worth a visit.
Lots of nearby cafes which to us seemed more pricy than nearby towns and resorts, I suppose visitors are a captive audience though.
