点评：I spent more than two weeks with Essa – from Amman to Dana, through the stunning Jordan Trail, Wadi Rum and his family home. As a solo female traveller, I was naturally cautious. But from day one, Essa and his brother Ahmad made me feel completely safe, respected and supported.
What made this trip truly unforgettable was the cultural depth. I wasn’t just a guest – I was included in real life. I shared tea and meals with Essa’s mother, sister, aunt and cousins. I laughed with them, asked questions, watched how they live. These are the parts of Bedouin life that are normally invisible to tourists – and I felt honoured to be invited in.
We talked about traditions and I also learned about local plants used as natural soap and glue, visited Essa’s old school and met former neighbours. These personal moments are what set Essa’s tours apart – and what made this journey feel so human and grounded.
Essa and Ahmad were also incredibly well-organised. From logistics to meals, everything was taken care of. His sister and Ahmad are both amazing cooks – every meal felt warm and generous. Whether we were trekking, driving, or resting, I never had to worry.
Some highlights of my journey:
Hiking parts of the Jordan Trail – even with injuries, always supported.
Wadi Ghuweir – wildly green, raw and unexpected.
Wadi Rum – living in a remote camp among camels, far from tourist noise.
Visiting Essa’s family – and truly understanding how women live.
Honest conversations about change, faith, culture and life itself.
This is not a five-star hotel experience. It’s far more rare, and in many ways more valuable: an honest connection with real people, a glimpse into Bedouin culture, and the kind of memories that stay with you for years.
If you want to see the real Jordan, and not just the postcard version – this is the way to do it.
