点评:Today, I had the pleasure of visiting the Moffat Distillery. Upon arrival, I was warmly welcomed by the staff. They took the time to show me every aspect of whisky production. Afterwards, I had the opportunity to taste their 10-month-old maturing new make, as well as their gin. The new make was surprisingly good. I’m very curious to see how the whisky will taste after 8 to 10 years in the cask. It certainly shows great promise! I'm a whisky enthusiast, but even the gin was quite enjoyable.
I host whisky nosing and tasting events myself and therefore regularly visit distilleries. Moffat was the 52nd I’ve visited. It was a pleasure to see that they weren’t pushy about selling anything. As a guest, you genuinely feel welcome, and their passion for single malts is clearly something they love to share.
The distillery’s unique production method, where the stills are heated directly with a wood fire, and their small production capacity (12,000 liters per year) make it well worth a visit. I look forward to presenting the single malt from this distillery in a few years. Today's experience will certainly contribute positively to that. Slàinte!
