A Perfect Day in Zanzibar aboard the African Queen!

点评：We had a wonderful trip on the African Queen – it was our favourite day in Zanzibar. Pauline organised everything seamlessly, including transfers, and was always quick and easy to reach via WhatsApp.
The boat itself is beautiful – very spacious, comfortable, and perfect for a full day of relaxing on the water. We chose African Queen because of their respect for nature and the dolphins, and we were so glad we did. It was sad to see many speedboats crowding and chasing the dolphins, with people jumping in on top of them, which quickly scared them away. The African Queen crew, however, take a respectful approach — they never crowd the dolphins, allowing you to watch them calmly swimming nearby, it was a very special moment.
The food on board was absolutely outstanding – far better than anything we had at our hotel – and it’s incredible to think it was all cooked on a single stove on the boat. Lobster, calamari, chapatti bread, and much more!
One of the best parts was the crew! They were warm, friendly, and clearly very experienced sailors who care deeply about the sea. Their happiness was infectious ☺️
It’s a full day of fun and relaxation, excellent value for money, and it ends with a beautiful sunset on the water. Truly wonderful – we would not hesitate to recommend it.
Pauline also organised a day trip for us to Nakupenda Bis and a Spice Farm, which was another seamless and very enjoyable experience. We especially loved the Spice Farm, where we had a fascinating and insightful tour led by a wonderful guide.
