The Best of Both Old and New

点评：I have been attending RA since I was a small child. I am guessing I have been to the track over 50 times for various events. While the participants and events have changed over the years my day is always brighter when I know it includes a trip to the National Park of Speed.
On this latest trip I took my daughter as well as my Dad. It was my daughter's first ever visit (which I had a hard time believing) but the umpteenth time I had visited with my Dad. We spent time in the paddock as we always do, looking at the various cars (this was the Historic weekend) and checking out what was new. Unfortunately this event is not quite what it was in it's hey day but still nice to see even the newer vintage cars. Also nice to walk around with limited crowds allowing you to get up close and sit almost anywhere you'd like.
We then ventured to Turn 5 which is where I spend most of my time watching. The addition of the large video screen is a nice upgrade as well as the rolling leaderboard. I would imagine for big events this is a very nice feature.
We also tried out the tram for the first time. This allowed my daughter to see much more of the track as we ventured all the to Canada corner. I don't think I had been there in 40 years. Much better views than back in the "old days" with addition of grandstands and clearing out the trees so you could see from the upper level.
The only negative of the trip was the food. My Dad had a brat which he said was great, but the pulled pork and chicken that my daughter and I had were cold and dry. Actually downright awful. I'd never had bad track food before so that was a first. Lesson learned, stick to the tried and true; brats, hot dogs and hamburgers.

这次旅行唯一的缺点就是食物。我爸爸点了一份香肠，他说味道不错，但我和女儿点的拉猪肉和鸡肉又冷又干。真的糟糕透了。我以前从未吃过难吃的赛道食物，所以这是第一次。吸取教训，还是坚持吃那些久经考验的食物吧：香肠、热狗和汉堡。
