Excellent walking tour of the Gardens with the new head horticulturalist and the historic staff

点评：I took a walking tour of the gardens at Clermont, the Livingston mansion in Germantown, NY with the new head Horticulturalist of the gardens.
She went over how she maintains the gardens with a small staff of volunteers and the history of how the gardens got developed in the 1930’s by Alice Livingston. The gardens were very vibrant in color with many of them in full bloom. We walked through the Sun, Cutting, Children’s, Walled and Wilderness Gardens with a small history of each and the game plan that the State of New York had for them. I have to admit she had a lot of work to do on a daily basis.
The garden and the house tour are really interesting just to see the amount of work that needed to be done both on the house and gardens but you can see the care that goes into it. They really are beautiful gardens and nicely planned out.
It was a great tour and I highly recommend it.
