Great Trails and Great Mansion
Olana State Historic Site的点评
点评：We have been going to Olana for a few years to walk around the grounds. There are very well maintained carriage trails with some great views. Although there are a couple of hilly spots, overall, the trails are not difficult.
We decided to take a guided tour of the mansion. It was a great experience. Our guide, Betsy, explained a lot about the history of the mansion and about the Church family. We would definitely take another tour to see other parts of the mansion (we did the ground floor tour) or even a guided tour of the trails to learn more about the property.
Last (and not least), a new, modern visitors center opened last year. Although it is very different than the original architecture, it seems to fit in very nicely and gives a nice, comfortable place to sit inside if it gets too hot (or too cold) outside.
Overall, Olana is worth a visit and since it is a nonprofit, becoming a member is a great way to show your appreciation for the work that is done to keep the place beautiful.
