Great way to see the cranes on the river

点评：Went on both a morning and evening viewing tour. Highly recommend the Rowe sanctuary for awesome views of the Sandhill cranes as they roost on the Platte river. Suggest you use toe and hand warmer a if it is cold. There was a warming room and porta john if needed. Each trip offers its own pluses. In the morning you arrive in the dark and hear the birds for a while before you can see them. If you are lucky ,they will hang around a while before lifting off. There is a light meter that signals when you can start taking pictures so there is a chance they might takeoff if spooked before you can take any photos. In the evening you will go to the blind well before the birds arrive and then watch as they fill in the sand bars. Eventually the light meter will signal no more pictures and you will stay around until dark before heading back to the parking lot. I recommend going at both times as they are different experience
