点评:First off, getting to this winery's tasting room is a bit of an adventure. The driveway is not well marked and the area is a bit off the beaten path. You drive down a gravel driveway that is not much more than a narrow tunnel through the forest and underbrush to a clearing in the brush. This is the parking area, but it is not well marked -- we weren't sure if we were in the right place or someone's private area. There is a dirt path through the bushes you need to follow for some ways before you come to a lawn and the building with the tasting room. It was a little creepy, as we couldn't see far ahead, there were unseen animals rustling in the bushes on both sides of us, and there was no clear signage telling us we were even heading anywhere.
Regardless, once we got to the winery, we had a nice tasting experience. The woman doing the tastings was quite knowledgeable and provided healthy-sized samples. Through the window, we saw that the vineyard was cut down to the root stocks. Apparently, this was to reinvigorate the plants and deliberately sacrificing a year or two of production to improve quality. Interesting -- I've never seen that done before.
The wines were OK but not outstanding. We had better wines at other wineries in the area but there was nothing wrong with them -- they just didn't stand out to us.
