Beautiful set of beaches

点评：Massive caveat - we came on a blue sky 27 degree day. They aren't common here! But it was a great visit.
Its a highly scenic beach made up of many sections. The best section, I think, is around the pier and the abbey, which is served by a smaller car park, rather than the main beach 400m or so away with the lifeguards, larger car park and toilets.
At the pier/abbey end are several beautiful beaches and coves on either side of the headland. You can visit any tide (its beautiful soft sand at high tide and extensive hard sand at low tide).
On the pier side the water is calm and still and lovely views to a cottage strewn hillside. We swam here, cold of course, but lovely on a hot day.
The beach on the other side is more wavy, but even more beautiful with views of natural hillsides and the abbey ruins, which you can also walk to as long as it isn't super high tide.
In sunny conditions, the sea is turquoise and its sandy bottomed and shallow a long way out.
And even on a hot day it was really not busy at all. A beautiful spot.
