Lovely family beach good for water activities
South sands, salcombe的点评
点评：Smallish sandy beach 2 miles outside of Salcombe. 2 hotels South Sands Beach Hotel and Harbour Beach Club, part of the Harbour chain and recently built, both open to non residents with good restaurants. Bo’s beach bar is also on the beach with a small eat in area, tables outside and a takeaway. Public toilets opposite by the Harbour beach club car park which is only for residents. There was no public car park that we could see, only parking on the road. The road is also part of the coastal path for South Devon. The beach is about a 2 foot drop from the road with steps at one end and there is also a jetty for boats. Wetsuits, body boards, paddle boards, boats, kayaks all for hire. The tide goes out quite a way and there is a “tractor” that takes you out to meet the ferry round to Salcombe for a reasonable charge. There is a water outlet that comes under the road to the beach which appears to be fresh water from the surrounding hills.
