The Banya的点评
点评：I had high expectations going into The Banya for the first time. At first glance, the venue looked beautiful and had glowing reviews, which made me even more excited. However, as the experience unfolded, I began to feel increasingly underwhelmed.
The atmosphere was less relaxing than I’d hoped. At times, it felt like we were animals at the Zoo being watched by the tourists in the restaurant. It was also quite busy, and being a cold day, that meant the hot spas were overcrowded.
The wood-fired sauna was a letdown. It wasn’t very hot, and since guests aren't allowed to pour water over the coals themselves, we were left waiting quite a while for staff to do it—diminishing the experience. Additionally, the bathrooms were not well-maintained and felt dirty, which took away from the overall sense of cleanliness and luxury.
One bonus is the steam room was great it heated quickly and was a lovely experience.
After our time in the bathhouse, we both had massages, and to say we were disappointed would be an understatement. The therapists assigned to us used such light pressure that it felt more like a trainee, than a qualified massage therapist. I had specifically requested focus on my back and neck, but these areas were barely touched.
My partner had a similar experience—both of us felt like we were being treated by beginners rather than experienced professionals. While we completely understand that everyone starts somewhere, it doesn't feel right to be charged full price when the service clearly lacks the skill expected at this level.
