点评:At first, we weren't sure what to expect... we had a national trust card each, and it was localish to us.
We hadn't booked, and we went by chance, but I would 100 percent recommend booking and making sure it's open... We fell lucky, and the staff were lovely, friendly, and informative.
Carpark was over the road. We were in a custom Ford camper and had plenty of room with no height barrier. Bags are not allowed around the house. A lockable cupboard is provided for bags, but we chose to leave in the camper and just carried our phones, photos allowed no flash.
Peter, who spoke to us to introduce us to the house and family, was fantastic and a very interesting guy, so thank you!.
It is a very interesting piece of National Trust property, not a stately home or country park and not a family of royalty but an amazing time capsule of a fascinating life in that era. Looking around, there's a lot of, in my opinion, clutter but fascinating clutter just left for all to see stuck in time. It's a museum, and the more you look, the more you see. You can relate to some items, and we found ourselves saying ... Do you remember those metal Rose's tins? And I found myself wanting to know more about this family and their life.
I thoroughly enjoyed our visit and would recommend
