点评:An amazing day! My oldest daughter and I are history nuts and obsessed with Hannibal Barca. So, we took the train from Balenthia (7 euro for 4 adults and 1 child) to Sagunto, arrived in less than an hour, had almuerzo near the train station, then hiked up the mountain. Check out the homes, churches, and olive trees along the way. San Michael's church is beautiful! Once at the top, explore it all. Shoot incredible photos, and imagine Hannibal sacking Sagunto/defeating the ROMANS! Imagine 38,000 troops and 37 elephants laying siege to the fortress before embarking on a campaign across the Alps and into the Po Valley. See the national park to the north. Turn around and see the Mediterranean Sea in the distance and the old town of Arse (Ar-SAY). See the Roman archaeological site in the town. We were there on a day when it rained, drizzled, and even had some sunshine. When it rained, we ducked into doorways and chatted. We found that to be perfect as it would have been very hot on a sunny day, the drizzle helped cool us, and the rain kept people away. Everyone agreed this was a great place to spend a day.
