点评:I have driven past the signs for this garden for 20 years or so, maybe more. This year I visited with friends at last during a break in the rain. The price is really reasonable, all the concessions listed on the website and more than I normally see elsewhere. The ticket office staff member was very friendly and helpful. The car parking is free. It's very accessible for people with walking frames or crutches. Wear shoes with good gripping soles as there is some mood and a few areas are slightly slippery. The plantings are stunning, with all sorts of varieties and species. The autumn foliage was lovely but I suspect it looks beautiful whatever the season now that it's matured. Various types of Japanese garden techniques were visible, all the plants lovingly pruned and shaped. The Japanese garden ornaments, devices, buildings and mediation spaces were relaxing. The water and wind features were enchanting. The bonsai and gift shop has a lot of choice though the goods could be better displayed. Just outside the main gate is a cafe with excellent cakes, 3 slices per helping and nice staff. If you want a restful afternoon out in a small but beautiful garden, this is well worth a visit.
