Summit Walk/Main Range Trail的点评
点评：We drove to Charlotte Pass and from there walked the track to Blue Lake and back. The alpine terrain was very, very mountainous; made up of barren, wind swept areas all around. Not a tree to be seen. We also had 2 separate river to cross, which required us to gingerly jump from rock to boulder to rock. (I am not sure how graceful we looked - but we made it without getting too wet). After a while we needed a big rest and settled on some rocks; with the Alpine valley below. Eating lunch with literally no-one around for miles (other than flies) was pretty cool.
We had one final incline to climb - and after some discussion and delicate negotiations … lol) we pushed on and arrived at Blue Lake - which was lovely. We even saw a couple of small snow drifts which remained in the background. Exhausted …. But fortunately the walk back was much better, being largely down-hill … and of course, the 2 river crossings again! The day had it all … Sun; Clouds; Rain; Flies on steroids; Cold and Wind … all combining to make it a memorable walk.
