Great views from fabulous Cumberland coastal museum!

点评：This is a great museum. Really interesting displays covering the history of Whitehaven, the west coast of Cumberland, WWI and WWII and Sellafield. Very interactive. One of the best museums for children (and big kids!). They can play with electricity, ride a chopper, build with giant blocks, balance the ballast in a ship and there's a VR experience of being a miner. Just a few of the things to do.
We spent two hours in there and could have spent longer. The views from the top floor are wonderful. You can see right across the harbour and down the coast. There's also a fabulous independent cafe and bakery on the ground floor.
It's also quite accessible. My father has limited mobility and poor eye sight but could read many of the displays and there is a lift to every floor. There are places to sit down around the displays.
Good value for money.
