点评:We contacted Henry at Monadnock Falconry to book a 90 minute walk with him and one of his hawks. (Note: check your spam folder if you haven't heard back after initially contacting him, he's very responsive).
I was joined by my Mom who has mobility issues and uses a cane, as well as my son (11) and my nephew (15).
Henry was very accommodating and made sure that our group had a great experience while sticking to a walk that my mom could participate in. He was incredibly thoughtful about every aspect of our time together. He checked with the kids about their comfort handling the hawk (and the chicken bits), he communicated clearly about the hawk's behavior and the human role in the relationship.
Aengus, the hawk, was incredible! What an honor to have him land on our gloved arms! He flew freely through the woods, hunted for chipmunks, and also came to us. We were privileged to see this amazing bird exhibiting natural behaviors while willingly interacting with us on his terms. Truly magical. Henry answered questions and told us about Harris's hawks specifically and Falconry and bird behavior more generally.
I highly recommend this experience. In fact, I think we'll do this again next summer.
