We rented the Maxie Deluxe camper for a trip up the east coast, and it was perfect for our needs. The camper was well-equipped with everything you could need, including fresh linens, towels, pots, pans, plates, and more. The only thing I’d recommend bringing along, especially for summer trips, is a fan—things can get pretty hot, but once we picked one up from Kmart, it made the experience much more comfortable.
The size of the Maxie Deluxe was ideal—not too big, not too small, and easy to drive. We did run into a small issue with the sliding door not opening from the inside, but when we contacted Camperman Australia, they were quick to assist and had it fixed in no time before we left Brisbane. The team was fantastic to deal with—very responsive by both email and phone.
One important thing to note: be sure to photograph everything on the day of pickup. We failed to take photos of a damaged hatch fly net, which wasn’t listed on the original report because it had been blue-tacked on. Unfortunately, it fell off as soon as we started driving. We noticed it right away at our first destination but didn’t get proof or take photos, and were later charged for the damage, even though we didn’t cause it. So, make sure to document everything to avoid any misunderstandings!
Overall, we had a great experience and would definitely recommend Camperman for anyone looking to explore Australia by camper!
