Visit rescued dogs and take them on a forest walk

点评：This was our favorite place during our whole visit in Peru! We took a short motorbike ride to this location from downtown Urubamba and spent a few hours learning about the rescue and care of stray dogs, petting adorable puppies, and taking special needs dogs for walks down a gorgeous forest path by a stream. The dogs loved getting a walk and they all loved the extra attention from our visit. You can spend an hour or a day at this place.
During our time in Peru, it was sad to see so many struggling malnourished stray dogs everywhere. This organization is providing sanctuary, medical care, and as much as possible organizing adoption for rescued dogs.
This place is in a quiet beautiful area on the outskirts of Urubamba. The owner is very welcoming of visitors who want to volunteer a little or a lot of time. The dogs are very welcoming of visitors too! This was a wonderful retreat for us and we enjoyed giving these sweet animals some love.
Definitely make time to visit and help out the dogs for a while during your time in Peru. The organization also accepts donations of all types.
