点评:St Dunstan's Church is a magnificent parish church. It is light and airy with some beautiful stained glass windows. Just inside the door of the Church, however, there is something unusual; a flight of steep stairs leading to a door. Behind that door is a Total Immersion Font installed in an effort to win back members of the Church's congregation who had joined the non-conformist Baptists. As good as this plan was, though, it did not seem to bear fruit because it is understood that this font was only used once. If you are lucky enough to find the West Tower (with, on the outside, its clock and unique figure of 'Old Father Time') open, it is well worth the £3 fee to climb the narrow, winding steps to the top for magnificent views of Cranbrook and the surrounding countryside. On the way down it is also worth having a look at the bells (installed in 1801) and the bell-ringers' gallery, with its view to the altar and the mechanism of the exterior.clock. Tested and approved by the Astronomer Royal, this clock was the forerunner of that clock which is known as Big Ben.
