A big disappointment
The Ickworth Hotel Spa的点评
点评：This is not a luxury spa.
The good stuff - the treatments were good and the staff in the spa were friendly.
The drawing room was nice enough but the tattered curtains and lack of staff were not great.
The lunch which was included was a very poor experience. We were in a room undergoing renovation which wasn’t a great start. The toasted sandwiches took an hour to arrive without a murmur of apology. We then ordered puddings which we had to chase up after 40 minutes. Mine arrived with a sticker in it. When I queried it the waitress said rather grumpily “it’s an allergy sticker” as though I should be grateful for it. Unfortunately the rice pudding wasn’t cooked, came with stewed fruit and not the compote advertised and generally wasn’t very nice. So at the point we gave up.
We went to the pool. It’s hard to explain how unluxurious this is. A single shared changing room with two booths for which there was a long queue. It wasn’t very clean. There were lockers but they were very small and all the locks were broken. There was one toilet which also wasn’t very clean. Then the pool itself was full of children and very loud. I appreciate this is a family hotel but I do think if you’re going to sell luxury spa days perhaps you could offer an hour or two in the day when children are not in the pool.
Overall I think the hotel would do well to stop promoting this as an experience and wait till they’ve completed pool renovations which they told us they planned to do.
