Beautiful grounds, apple picking was sparse, pass on the cider

点评：Get ready for some family fun with about aTHOUSAND friends. This is a beautiful farm and facility, it has a bbq food truck with picnic tables, cider house, coffee shop, large store with tons of merchandise, bakery for donuts and pies, and an ice cream parlor. Covered wagons take you out to the field to pick apples and then come back for you afterwards. Everything was super clean. Although it was incredibly crowded, it was well organized. We did have to spend most of our time waiting in lines- about 20 minutes for cider, then 20 minutes for donuts, 10 minutes to check out in the store. Most of the people working were super friendly and helpful. Be sure you get in line before 3:30 to pick apples, even though they don’t close until 5. In the orchard, many lanes of trees are roped off. The areas available had very little left to pick, most of what was left had bad spots/rotten places or worm holes. It seems to be very controlled on the places you can pick which was disappointing from our usual orchard experience where we could just roam and explore the whole place and find plenty of different varieties. Donuts were good, ice cream was ok- but very small portion for $7 per serving. I would pass on the hard cider, not super flavorful other than the blackberry. Our group shared 2 flights,so we sampled them all plus their house white wine. We did not purchase any to take home, very lackluster. The regular apple cider slushy was delicious! I would return primarily for the atmosphere but would make sure to arrive early and pick apples first before participating in any of the other events. I may choose other orchards in the area for the actual apple picking experience, but Jeter is definitely a really nice place to visit.
