点评:We have just returned from our third New Year’s Eve stay and fifth overall visit to Wilderness. While we have always enjoyed the resort and its amenities, we were disappointed to find that the level of rudeness and inconsideration from other guests seems to worsen with each visit. Unfortunately, this most recent trip was the most frustrating.
In the waterpark, there were no chairs available for sitting despite hundreds being present. Nearly all chairs were “saved” with towels and personal belongings, often for extended periods while no one was using them. Adding free cubbies and enforcing a policy that removes unattended belongings from unused chairs would greatly improve this issue. Much like a park bench, chairs should be available if no one is actively sitting in them.
During the New Year’s Eve ball drop at midnight, we also observed guests hoarding balls—some carrying five or six—while walking past children who were hoping to get just one. This was especially disappointing during what should be a family-centered celebration.
Additionally, while walking the halls one afternoon, I noticed numerous empty luggage carts left outside guest rooms. Meanwhile, new guests were actively searching for carts during check-in. On one floor alone, there were six carts left unattended. This was frustrating and easily preventable with better enforcement or reminders to return carts after use.
I will commend the maintenance staff. Our dishwasher broke and water was pouring out onto the floor. They were quick to respond.
We truly enjoy Wilderness and have made many great memories there. However, if the level of guest rudeness and lack of consideration continues without intervention, we will have to reconsider returning in the future.
