点评：My wife and I spent 3 days enjoying the Talyllyn Railway. First day we visited the Dolgoch waterfalls by train , then took the train back to Rhydyronen where we followed one of the walks from the railway’s pamphlet. Second day we took the trail all the way to Nant Gwernol for a circular walk to Castell y Bere - another official walk from the railway’s pamphlet leaflet.
Our third day was the ‘railway adventure’ event where volunteers and staff regailed us with tales from the preservation of the railway and we got a ‘behind scenes’ look at the workshops and engineering sheds.
Throughout our holiday the staff and volunteers at the railway have been super friendly and helpful. The whole operation exudes happiness.
This trip was my idea, I have an interest in mechanical things. My wife was really along to share but not expecting to enjoy it as much as me but this little railway has got into her heart and she leaves planning to read ‘Railway Adventure’ by Tom Rolt.
Thank you to everyone at the railway. Wonderful place. Wonderful people.
