点评:We decided to venture here on a day drip from Madison to mix things up a bit. We have a membership at Madison Children’s Museum, which gets you half off admission to Betty Brinn. Had we not had a discount, it would have been quite pricy for us all to get in. This is a wonderful museum that is definitely geared towards young children. My kids are 8.5 and probably on the cusp of when this museum would be most enjoyable for them. It took us probably around 2 hours to get through everything. They loved all the open ended play opportunities!
Two tips for those not familiar with the museum: 1. Definitely bring enough snacks to make a meal out of. There is a cafe area where you can sit and eat, but there’s no food available for purchase, either in the museum or within what I would consider reasonable walking distance for young kids. 2. The parking garage that the museum offers discounted parking for is not well marked, and the other nearby parking that’s available is VERY expensive and deceptive ( I parked in a garage that was advertising “$5 all day,” imagine my shock when we paid $20 for 2.5 hours!) . So definitely be careful of what garage you park in.
If you happen to have kids who have a high energy level, Betty Brinn is located within walking distance of a couple of other nice museums. There’s also beautiful views of Lake Michigan right outside the museum.
