In June the treatments, a facial and back massage were excellent. Due to staff shortages, the back massage is no longer available and has been replaced with a Rasal Mud Treatment. This is a treatment you apply yourself, so ideally needs 2 people, to apply to back area. When I asked the staff whether they would apply the products to my husband's back, they implied it was for two people, so the product was applied to each other. "Which people find fun". Being 70 years of age we are looking for pampering, which I feel a Spa Day should be. Today, the chamber was not as steamy and warm as the last time we had one. Usually when sitting in the chamber you don't normally see the other person sitting opposite you
My husband loves going to the spa to unwind, unfortunately there is only 2 loungers by the pool and 3 upstairs in the quiet area, plus 4 seats with a table. Bentley Spa is not a relaxing environment to spend the day
The Sauna is cramped on the lower level, due to arthritis in my knees sitting on the top level is not an option
Steam room is good, seats about 4
The two foot spas and two Rainforest Showers, one was not working. The shower has never worked on any of our visits. On one visit a few months back, we did see a maintenance man looking at the shower
We were asked to attend at 9.30 am no one on reception to greet us
The locker key I was given, was for a locker on the top level, number 71. Being under 5 foot tall with arthritis, it was difficult to get robe and towel off shelves. Towel was thin and needs replacing. Robe absorbed a lot of water and became very heavy as the morning went on. At 11.30 after treatment I needed help to get the robe on. We asked lady at reception to move our Afternoon Tea, so we could go home earlier. Something we have never done before on our Spa Days
Other than two couples staying at the hotel which were gone by 10,30 am and a member and his daughter that came about 12.30 we were the only ones there
The relaxation room feels very cool. The water in that room was not refreshing. No ice or fruit. The jug of water where the foot spa, was, today, was cooler and more
refreshing, which with the heated seat, did not make sense
I informed Amy when her and her other therapist came in, which was around 11am that the visit today was falling short on our expectations
Two Beauty Therapists on duty today, neither one doing massages, which has been the case for months. Disgusting, the mud treatment is a cop out, anyone who could read, could deliver 3 products on a wooden platter.
When I left the Spa, I waited for husband outside. Receptionist was hoovering the floor so unable to sit inside. Would be nice to be able to leave wet robe and towel in Changing Room rather than dragging to Reception
The Afternoon Tea was served by a pleasant member of staff that was attentive and caring to our needs
Always nice background music in the Dining Room
The coffee was excellent and the sandwiches, fresh and tasty. Scone warmed. Generous portion of jam and cream. One of the better "Teas" we have had, this year
At the hotel reception, the member of staff on duty did not acknowledge us, going in or out of the building. When we arrived to have Tea the dining room was in darkness with no staff member to greet us
The Hotel Spa does need to improve
Picking the phone up and communicating with each other would be a start
Today, our Spa Day was a soulless experience. No good feel factor, did not do anything for my mental health.
