点评：What an outstanding way to spend a couple of hours! So much more than just petting a cow like a petting zoo. This is a working cattle operation and clearly a passion project for Craig. He is a fountain of knowledge and it was truly fascinating to listen to him talk about the Highland Cows as well as the different grasslands and ecosystems at work and what they are doing to rejuvenate the natural environment. The cows themselves are obviously the stars of the show and they did not disappoint. Again, this is not a petting zoo and we got to see their full personalities and temperaments on display. Some want all the pets and combing, others just want food, and a couple want to be photographed from a distance. We got to help “tame” Nellie, one of the newest babies who had not been touched by the public. By the end of our tour she was a cuddle bug and loved the comb! If you are in the Black Hills area, make a point to visit Black Hills Highlands. We did a 2 week trip covering 4,600 miles over 11 states and 2 Canadian Provinces and this is the tour everyone keeps talking about. Thanks Craig for a great afternoon! And now we all know to make sure the comb bucket is strapped down!
