点评： We took the Bangalore -Tuticorin Express reaching Madurai Jn in the morning. We stayed at Hotel Sabarees Residency, about 2 km away from the Railway Station. Fixed thali-type breakfast is given in the room We proceeded to Meenakshi temple. In the evening we took a taxi to go to Rameshwaram. We reached Rameshwaram by 7 pm. After checking into the hotel we went for darshan at Ramanathaswamy temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. We took Special Darshan Tickets for Rs 200 per person. Inside the temple there are 2 Shiv lings. One brought by Hanuman from Kailash called Vishwalingam and another the main deity Shiv Ling called Ramalingam made by Sita with sand on the sea, for Rama to pray to Lord Shiva- due to washing away of sin in killing Ravana- a Brahmin. The next day morning we purchased Rs. 150 tickets ( Special Tickets) for having an assisted bath in 24 Water Wells. In the evening we went to Danushkodi and saw the sun set. One can see Sri Lanka through Telescope. We could not see villondi Tirtham as it was closed as the walkway for repair. I do not know how the Thirtham will taste like normal water when it is on the sea. There are many sight seeing religious and scenic places. Dr. Abdul Kalam Museum and his house can be visited. You will get all types of Cuisine, South, North, Punjabi, Chinese. There is a street vendor who sells tasty Hot Badam Milk in the evening. People throng to him.
