点评：We booked this venue for our Grandsons 1st birthday. We text Beck to see if we could arrive 30 minutes early to set up the balloon arch and decorations. Her reply was yes but there would be a charge of £15 for this. Reluctantly we agreed as Beck and her one other staff member weren’t helping us with the set up and she needed to be there anyway to have the kitchen set up.
The drinks are very pricey £3 for a teacup sized cappuccino and the service was very slow. My husband ordered a black coffee which was full of the filtered grounds and was sent back. The replacement arrived eventually but Beck said it was for a lady when I asked her about it so my husband never got his replacement.
At 3pm we packed everything away including all the toys so there was nothing for Beck to do, when my son went to pay the £15 for the 30 minutes set up time we were then told it was now £30 as it had taken us 20 minutes to clear everything away!!
I was not happy at all with this and at no point were we ever told clearing away would be charged too. We had no contract with Beck and feel 5is is totally unreasonable. Beck would not back down even though the one other staff member and herself were still clearing the kitchen up. She used the electricity (a few lights) and the gas (one patio heater which we had to ask to be put on as it was so cold) as her excuse for the extra £30. And staffing. What staff ? We did everything ourselves.
There were over 30 adults present and most had cakes and drinks and yet she would not budge on the second charge.
I have sent several text messages during this week to ask she does the morally correct thing and refund the £15 and the £3 for the coffee replacement but this request has been ignored.
So if you choose to book this very cold venue please make sure you are given all the correct information so you don’t have any nasty surprises at the end of you child’s party.
