Mosquito Hell
Ponderosa State Park的点评
点评：The park is beautiful, and within a very short drive to town, and a 20 minute drive or so to the north side of the lake.
The issue is the mosquitos. It was absolutely ridiculous. 20-40 of them will swarm you if you stay in the same place for more than a minute. Even off deet spray wouldn’t stop them. Extremely aggressive as well. This was AT THE CAMPGROUND WHERE PEOPLE ARE CAMPING.
Mosquitos are more dangerous than sharks by how many people are killed a year. They spread serious diseases. For the park to consider it acceptable for people to be staying in these conditions is extremely irresponsible. It is a major public health and safety risk.
Even with special anti-mosquito spray for the cat, and OFF for myself, both of us were bitten dozens of times. We had to hide in the tent for the entire 4 days. What a miserable trip. My cat is still crying from the bites all over his body and face. I can’t even pet him.
SHAME ON YOU FOR ALLOWING THESE CONDITIONS!! I had plans to visit once a month for the entire season. Now I will not be camping there ever again until serious measures are taken for public safety.
DO NOT VISIT THIS PARK UNTIL THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN RESOLVED.
