Small, But Mighty Mountain - A Real Gem for Skiers and Boarders

点评：Wolf Creek is touted to receive the most snow fall in Colorado. In our six trips to Wolf Creek for winter skiing, we've never encountered closed lifts due to lack of snow or any other reason. Each of our six trips have been during busy season (just before Christmas through New Years) and though there are a lot of patrons, waiting for lifts is reasonable (10 minutes or less) and the busiest runs (greens) are still easily skiied and not ridiculously busy. Though Wolf Creek isn't a ski in/ski out destination, with a quick comparison of lift ticket prices, it's one of the more affordable daily costs in all of Colorado. We've stayed in Pagosa Springs a few times, Southfork a couple of times, and most recently in Del Norte. Pagosa is the largest of the towns with the most 'to do', restaurants, entertainment options, etc. But, I've loved Southfork and Del Norte as well, and find that I tend to do more "resting" when not on the mountain when I stay in those towns. My only suggestion for Wolf Creek skiers/boarders is that you'll save yourself considerable time if you pack your own lunch/snacks/drinks and bring those to the mountain on your ski day. Food is decently priced at Wolf Creek and the quality is pretty good, but service tends to be quite slow and for a family - you might wait in line and wait for food to be prepped for more than an hour (not including time to actually eat). If you want to maximize your time on the slopes, bringing food is a great way to do that.
