点评:If you are lucky enough to be driving along the RP1506 towards Telouet on the way to Ait Ben Haddou, it is worth considering a stop to see the atmospheric ruins of the Kasbah Telouet. We had a very interesting and informative tour of the Kasbah by an official tour guide, the delightful Jawad. The kasbah was originally built in 1860 with successive builds in 1910s and 1940s. There are still some lovely features to be seen such as the cedarwood ceilings, ornate plasterwork and tiles. Also interesting photographs and memorabilia from the days of the Pasha.
There is a Berber Co-operative located next to the Kasbah, with wonderful handmade rugs made by the local ladies and beautiful Amazigh jewellery made by the local men. All top quality items and no hard sell, just a very pleasant experience chatting and drinking tea with Jawad and Rachid. The Berber people suffered a lot during the earthquake a few years ago and really could do with some support from overseas visitors. This is a wonderful, peaceful and more authentic alternative to Aït Ben Haddou.
