We arrived and waited near reception to purchase tickets. When a staff member appeared he seemed annoyed and told us “you need to pay to come in”, which was already our intention. Shortly after he informed us that the dog could not be brought in because dogs are not allowed around their cars.
We explained that the dog is not a pet, but a trained working Assistance Dog helping my daughter with mobility. It was properly vested, under control and clearly working but were told it “doesn’t matter”. The staff member was not interested in hearing any explanations or looking at documentation.
As the dog is an essential mobility aid, this meant my daughter could not access the museum. She left feeling excluded. We have visited other museums without issue, so this was very disappointing.
