点评：This museum and historical section of Lewiston are a must see when you are in town.
First, explore the historic trolley, the buildings and interpretive signage that you'll find across the street and around the museum itself.
Once you enter the museum, you are welcomed by friendly staff and volunteers. My wife and I had a few genealogical questions for the staff members, and they were most welcoming and prepared to assist with access to their historical resources. A note for others doing similar research - call ahead to confirm they have access at your preferred time and to arrange for an appointment to utilize their records.
As is the case with most smaller historical museums, the New Perce museum had so many great exhibits that they could use a larger venue. But don't read that this building is crowded or cramped. It's just you get the idea that there's so much to share and only so much space. I found the exhibits to be informative and quite interesting. A plus is that all of their exhibits feature a QR code for additional information.
With a modest admission fee, and a micro-focus on local history in and around Nez Perce County, there are all kinds of reasons for you to visit this gem. As we did, plan on spending a few hours to enjoy the pieces of history here in this river town.
