哈尔萨夫列尼地宫的点评
点评：After having missed out on a previous trip in 2014 we made sure to book up months in advance.
On arrival tickets were scanned and we were checked in, we had got to the Hypogeum early and just had to wait for our slot to come round and other tour members to arrive. The waiting area was comfortable and air conditioned.
Our slot came around and we were guided in after loading all of our belongings into a locker (no photography is allowed once the tour begins).
There was an audio guide available in several languages which was great. The tour however lacked enthusiasm from the guide who seemed like they were only there to make sure that we behaved ourselves or to repeat instructions such as watch your step or hold the handrail (which had just been voiced on the audio guide) rather than to impart any knowledge or enthusiasm.
They shone a torch momentarily at various points and by the time you’d looked towards the light it was off. When being shown the red ochre paintings (which given their age have faded slightly) the torch did remain on for some time but all it did was made them harder to see, a blue torch/lighting would be better here and would help make the red much more visible.
Despite the tours being limited to 10 people room was very limited and the guide did not tell people to move forward so that everyone could view what the audioguide was telling us about.
Is it worth going to see… it’s an incredible structure but I feel that improvements could be made. Replacing lighting with museum grade LEDs providing more light with almost no UV radiation or infra red heat and also allowing a much more dynamic experience. This along with more energy and enthusiasm from the guides would completely change the experience.
