Rheinfels Castle的点评
点评：This was the second time I have visited, and it was just as enjoyable as the first time. The ruins are impressive as they are, and if you have a good imagination you can see how very impressive the castle must have been when it was intact. The views from the castle over the Rhine gorge are also impressive.
There is some ongoing restoration work, which affects access to some parts of the castle.
The last time I was here, we walked up. It's a scenic walk, but there's quite a bit of elevation gain. This time we did it the easy way and used the shuttle bus (both up and down). it's the #681 bus, and it leaves from the main plaza in Sankt Goar, which is a short distance from the train station. If I were to do it again, I'd take the bus up (less strenuous), but walk down, as the walk down is quite scenic. Also, the last bus down leaves at 5 PM, whereas the castle itself closes at 6 PM, so walking down leaves more time to explore the castle if you arrive in the afternoon.
