During the planning of our Sri Lankan journey, we easily built a level of trust and confidence in this small and intimate but growing local Sri Lankan tour company. These impressions were accentuated by our warm welcoming at the Colombo airport and throughout our journey.
For our 2-week journey through Sri Lanka, Sudath and Chanu did their best to make each of our experiences enjoyable and comfortable. Whenever we had a concern or issue, they immediately went into action to resolve.
We traveled from Colombo > Pinnawala > Sigiriya > Kandy > Ella > Yala National Park > Unawatuna Beach / Galle > Colombo. Sri Lanka is beautiful, easy to travel in, with delightful and friendly people, rich and diverse cultures and tasty food and so many elephants-elegant and gentle giants.
Our most delightful experiences were:
the parading of the elephants through the streets of Pinnawala to the local river for their baths; in Sigiriya the Traditional Village expedition;
in Sigiriya having a home-cooked meal with Chanu’s mom and dad at their home;
experiencing the evening rituals at the Buddha Tooth Temple in Kandy;
the mountain views and hiking in Ella,
safari in Yala (YES, we saw a mamma leopard and her two cubs and sleeping leopard);
the beautiful beaches in Unawatuna;
and the food!
We highly recommend Sudath Safari and Tours for your travels to Sri Lanka.
If you budget allows, consider requesting Sudath to upgrade your nightly accommodations (for only a very modest price increase) to locations offering more village/city centered and more comfortable locations.
