Back In Time For Tea的点评
点评：We came on Mothering Sunday so it was an extremely busy day which impacted on the visitor experience. We had been unaware of this attraction, our nieces found out about it & suggested it as a place to meet up. We decided that the 'tea & cake with tour' was well worth £10 a head. We arrived first & were seated at our table, we were asked if we wanted to tour first or have our tea & cake? We opted for drinks first then the tour. Before we finished or drinks however there was an influx of people who were there for the next seating. It transpired that our table was needed but the owners never directly asked us to move the spoke around the subject in our hearing which was very awkward. With so much furniture in the kitchen & where we were sat we were in the way of the door especially with so many extra people coming in at once! It was us that volunteered to get out of the way & start our tour. On the tour it was very evident that this hard working couple were struggling to cope on their own, especially as he was doing the tours as well as being 'Front of House'
The tour was very informative & a fascinating spotlight on the social history of a building that has now become very much a family home. Once you get your head around the fact that various family members are 'at home' whilst you are discovering amazing facts it's a different but very enjoyable experience. The cakes were very tasty & there was even a vegan option for one of our nieces... although I think it would have been better if that had been 'prebooked'.
We would definitely recommend it. Pre booking is essential & I'd avoid busy dates such as Mother's Day & Easter etc. We were pleased that it was spotted for a different way to spend time together 😉
