Brilliant day out - highly recommend
朴茨茅斯古代造船厂的点评
点评：I visited Portsmouth Historic Dockyard solo and came away absolutely blown away. If you have any interest in British naval history, or even if you don't, this place will captivate you from the moment you walk in.
I spent a full day exploring HMS Victory, the Mary Rose Museum, and the National Museum of the Royal Navy, and honestly I could have stayed longer. The sheer scale of the dockyard is impressive, but it's the staff and guides who really make it special. Nowhere is this more true than the Mary Rose Museum, where the team were absolutely brilliant. They took real time to chat, share their knowledge, and make you feel genuinely welcome. That kind of enthusiasm is infectious.
The Mary Rose experience itself is exceptional. The immersive entrance and 4D cinema do a fantastic job of setting the scene before you even see the ship, and once inside, you can actually touch real parts of the vessel. Being able to feel the difference between treated and untreated wood is a small detail that makes a huge impression. It's that kind of hands-on, thoughtful approach that sets this place apart.
On the practical side, there are plenty of toilets dotted around the site and several good options for food and drink, so you won't go hungry on a full day visit. Parking was straightforward and it's easy to reach by public transport too.
On tickets: I visited free with an Art Pass, but even at full price it's hard to grumble. You get a year's worth of return visits included and there is so much to see.
I'll definitely be returning with my children and to explore the attractions I haven' yet seen. Highly recommended for history lovers, families, school trips, and naval enthusiasts alike.
