Very enjoyable, educational and entertaining
Golden Hind Museum Ship的点评
点评：There are many hidden features to the Golden Hind Museum. From the outside it looks like there may only be a small ship with 3 decks but you can explore a lot of areas inside, including the captain’s quarters, crew quarters, gun deck etc. as well as some areas which have been adapted to showcase relevant artefacts.
There is a free audio tour that you can play on your own smartphone, using a QR code at the start and then playing each numbered section when signposted on the ship. This is enhanced with several audiovisual displays, waxworks, and info boards. Lots of interesting information from what the pirate code actually was (more of a guideline), the names of the crew, penalties for misdemeanours on board, and why it was important for the crew to “do their business” off the bow of the ship (the heads).
This was a much better experience than I anticipated and I’m glad I did it. I enjoyed it hugely, as did my teenage daughter and my father.
There are activity sheets for younger visitors and plenty of souvenirs.
One word of caution is that there are a lot of steep steps to get up and down between the decks, so may not be suitable for those with mobility issues… although my 82-year old father managed the whole thing without a problem.
