Disappointing Gardens

点评：Our visit was a Garden Club excursion of 42 Senior members. We all found the staff on entry, at the cafe and in the gardens very friendly and helpful. There was free admission for Seniors in October which we were not made aware of, but the venue refunded us with no problem. There were mixed reviews from the members with regards to the gardens. While there were some interesting and pretty plants the overall feeling was that the gardens looked "tired" and some sections "neglected". The cafe was simply a disaster. They were understaffed and they were aware that a bus load of people were coming (2 bus loads actually turned up) on that day and there wasn't enough food on offer and the menu was very limited (no sandwiches). None of the tables were cleared up after the meals and some of the visitors cleared up all the tables so that other people could use them. "Disaster" aptly describes the Garden Cafe. We spent 4 hours there which was 1 to 2 hours too long.
