麦凯格纪念塔的点评
点评：Oban for us was just a place to spend the night to catch an early morning ferry to Mull we didn't really know what to expect and it wasn't a destination of choice -- just a place where we had to go to get the ferry. We were pleasantly surprised though -- was a charming little town with a great vibe and beautiful views, and we would like to go back to explore more. We visited McCaig's Tower -- found it a bit odd to see a replica of the Colisseum in Scotland -- not worth going out of your way to visit. We had dinner at The Royal Hotel which was one of the best seafood meals we had during our two-week visit to Scotland. There were some great shops in Oban too selling art -- we went there twice to buy prints. We stayed at Three Oban because it was close to the ferry and had three bedrooms which we needed. Was a great accommodation but the owner was extremely rude. He ruined our morning by showing up 15 minutes before our check-out time to clean - he walked in without knocking, complained about the cost of parking for him to come and clean, and was just plain rude and mean. Someone in our party had lost her $2000 retainer and airpods just as he walked in and she was trying to find them so needed a bit more time to search the apartment. He made her feel like a nuisance and never once offered to contact us if he found them. So Oban for us was a mix of bad experiences, amazing experiences, oddities, but overall a place we will return to to explore a bit more.
