Busy, expensive, not inclusive
Knockhatch Adventure Park的点评
点评:We visited in the summer holidays. I have shared my feedback direct with Knockhatch with my contact details; they lacked the care or courtesy to contact me about it.
Despite offering a Carers’ ticket (reduced, not free), I found it to be a very expensive day out. Staff are very dismissive and uncaring. They insist on seeing a Nimbus access card for the carer’s ticket, which has nothing to do with them. For inexplicable reasons, they won’t accept a DLA or Carers Allowance letter like most other places, but yet, don’t offer any assistance to Autistic people, like my son, who severely struggle with waiting and queuing. No assistance at the long queue on entering, or in the park, waiting for attractions, like the climbing wall. That meant we had my son started the day dysregulated and in discomfort, and he was unable to access the full offering of the attraction, meaning we left the park earlier than most other guests.
It is well documented that Autistic people struggle with waiting and queuing. The need for a disabled, fast track queue/entrance is not a ‘perk’ or a privilege, this is a real physical and emotional need. I feel Knockhatch are only inclusive and respectful to those needs they can see, and choose to deem important and worthy of recognition. Very disappointing in this day and age.
