点评：Samana bay whale watching - Good and bad, we booked the three hour 9.15am trip and arrived as requested at 8.45am (office hard to find no name sign outside) but we didn’t leave until 10am, they had to wait for coaches with people who were on a full day trip. On the way out we had to call onto an Island to drop off provisions (lunch for the day trippers). We spent about an hour watching the whales, to be fair quite a lot of Humpbacks, though mainly just showing their backs, one did a full breach but in the distance. The guide spoke only in Spanish and German and hardly any English so most of the time we had to guess what was happening. We then went back to the island to drop off the full day passengers for lunch and we then headed back to port, finishing after 2.5 hours not the three as advertised. I guess the time cut short was to ensure the full day people got their lunch! The boat was full, seating in rows of four that really would be comfortable for three people, guess that’s the way they make money or keep the cost down. The onboard photographer took our photo and tried to either sell directly to us if not it was via email who knows?? He was hard to understand so we declined both options. Without stops at the island and setting off on time I think we could have had around two hours of whale watching, what I had expected. So good we saw whales very bad poorly organised and done on the cheap.
