Dinosaur River Expeditions的点评
点评：They are lying about being the only “true local guiding operation.” For some history, Adrift Rafting opened in Jensen in 1980, and was started in Moab, where they expanded to the upper waters of the Green. The previous and current owners of Adrift Dinosaur are all local to this region of Utah and Colorado. Dinosaur River Expeditions opened in Vernal in 1985, five years after.
Not only that, the operation and guides at Adrift are much more welcoming, diverse and better trained to handle the types of waterways in the eastern parts of the Colorado River Basin. Dinosaur Expedition hires people that actively vote and work against the things that made this area so special. They support Simplot Mines, and their shuttle service/driver is terrifying. Speeds way over limit, and they cram everyone into a van where not everyone can wear a seatbelt.
They administer the Meyers-Briggs test to new employees? It is a dumpster fire and again, they are lying about being the only local operation. Both Holiday and Adrift are local to Utah- with Adrift being the first company to open in Eastern Utah, in Jensen (which is just east of Vernal in Utah.)
Support good guiding operations and guides, and companies that support and pay their employees what they are worth and prioritize safety of their customers. There have been multiple reports of poor behavior from their guides over the years, ranging from obscenity and lewd behavior from male guides to racist remarks concerning local Native Americans from female guides.
OARS is the only operation running these rivers in Eastern Utah that would be considered “not true locals,” but even that is a stretch considering Don Hatch’s history running rivers throughout the Colorado River Basin.
