Nice hike with a great set of viewpoints.

点评：Moderate walk with a bit of a scramble in places but a great view at the top - take a picnic to eat in the shade up top as there are some nice benches and bathrooms. It was dry and dusty when we did it but some parts are over bare rock and would be awful wet. Wear good trainers/hiking shoes - this isn’t one for flip flops. Take at least a litre of water each, personally I’d suggest two especially if climbing any time after 9am. There is a small ticket charge to get into the summit area with the viewpoints, presumably as it has been tidied up with the benches etc. (970rp as of Sept 2025 - the ticket box had plenty of change).
As others have said - the locals are deliberately concealing the start of the trail/destroying the markers and will also deliberately misdirect you to extort money. The photo I’ve included is what is currently blocking the start of the trail as you cross the footbridge after coming along the tracks from Kithalella (the branches) - go past these a little and bear to the left through the tea plantation (the trail as marked on Google maps is actually pretty accurate), don’t pass the house as you’ll be directed further into the forest the wrong way. Hopes this saves someone else the misdirection from the locals!
There are a couple of locals selling coconuts/cold drinks at fair prices on the marked part of the trail - handy on the way down!
