点评：Fantastic small museum on the history of victrolas. We had a nice tour from a very knowledgeable guide. Record players started with the first players by Edison, on round cylinders, and evolved to flat discs. You learn how records were pressed. You learn how the name Victrola came about: Mr. Johnson was the victor in a court case, so he decided to call his company victor. People added "ola" to everything back then, so it morphed into Victrola. There are dozens of victrolas of different brands on display, even a high end one that was gold covered. Our guide played a record for us on one of the Victrolas, and that was very cool. There is a huge statue of Nipper, the famous dog that symbolized the Victrola. His owner had passed away, and the friend who took him in played a recording of Nipper's master. In the famous painting, Nipper is pictured looking into the horn of the Victrola, listening to "His Master's Voice." This was a fantastic place. Expect to spend an hour or so. Free, but they accept donations.
